US News/The Associated Press is reporting that an employee of SunTrust Bank may have stolen the personal information of 1.5 million customers. The good news is the data that was stolen does NOT include social security numbers. I would imagine the data will make it’s way on to the various markets of the dark web as something to sell to telemarketers and scammers. If you are a SunTrust customer, your email address and cell phone number may start to get a lot more spam in the coming months.
